Public holidays in Belize are set at the national level countrywide – they are implemented similarly across the six districts.
During Belizean public holidays all banks, government offices, schools and businesses are closed. But there is an exception for popular tourist destinations; most tourism businesses stay open to accommodate visitors. Examples include tour operators, souvenir shops and restaurants. Chinese supermarkets also usually open as most people buy their groceries daily.
