The Mayflower Bocawina National Park is located in the Stann Creek District of Southern Belize. The park consists of over 7000 acres of pristine lowland broadleaf forest, refreshing waterfalls, and evidence of an ancient Mayan city. It’s only 20 minutes by car from the coastal Garifuna towns of Hopkins and Dangriga.
Visiting Mayflower Bocawina
People typically visit Mayflower Bocawina when they are seeking active jungle exploration tours. The national park has the longest canopy zip-line course in Central America and there are three waterfall rappelling sites.
Other rainforest adventures include exploring mountains, hiking trails, swimming holes, and Maya archeological remains. Wildlife spotting is also popular, over 200 species of birds have been recorded and pumas, jaguars, howler monkeys, tapirs, spider monkeys, ocelots, pacas, and armadillos have been seen.

Bocawina Rainforest Resort is an eco-friendly lodge that prides itself in obtaining its energy from solar panels and hydro. Along with providing jungle accommodations and adventure tours, the resort has a restaurant that serves Belizean meals as well as international cuisine.
Bocawina Campground
Though mostly undeveloped, the park has a designated camping area behind its visitor center. It is limited to tent campers and guests can use amenities such as toilets and water during the visitor center’s open hours. Contact park admin for camping fees and additional information.
