Exploring Mexico, Belize & Guatemala in 2012 via Mobile Photos

Mobile photography is one of my favorite hobbies and therefore, whenever I travel I keep my iPhone very close. Actually, since last year, I’ve entirely quit carrying around a bulky camera and only rely on my iPhone for photographs. This is especially excellent since I’m not a pro photographer and I feel more comfortable taking mobile pictures.

If you are wondering about the benefits of ditching your camera in favor of your phone, for me they were pretty straight forward. I always have my phone with me, it’s great to catch spontaneous moments, a camera can be awkward and heavy – not to mention expensive to replace if lost or stolen, and I can instantly edit and share photos.

Summer Travel + Mobile Photography

This summer I got to spend a month away from Toronto while I went to Belize to spend time with family and friends. I also used this opportunity to visit the neighboring countries of Mexico and Guatemala since I love the food and culture of both countries.

I want to share with you my summer travel experience via a photo essay. The photos are sequenced in the order as described below.

I flew into Mexico via Cancun and spent a few nights in Playa Del Carmen before making my way to Belize. After being in Belize for a few days I decided to take a short trip to Flores, Peten. Flores is a picturesque little Guatemalan town located about two hours from the Belizean border, it was once an island but a land bridge was created to connect it to the mainland.

Excellent picture essay! The important thing is to share images with the world of places less travelled.
